Museum of the Impossible is a quiz game for Apple TV developed by Filipp Panfilov (“we”). Contact: support@museumoftheimpossible.tv.
In short: no sign-up, no ads, no tracking across apps, and we never sell data. The Apple TV sends us only anonymous gameplay statistics, and you can turn them off.
What we collect
From the Apple TV only, and only while “Anonymous statistics” is on (on by default):
- gameplay events: app launch, match start, finish or interruption, round results — theme and language, number of players, duration, counts of correct and wrong answers, answer times, seals used, question ID (never the text of anyone's answer);
- a random install ID created by the app. It is not linked to your Apple Account, is not an advertising identifier, and changes if you reinstall;
- app and tvOS version, device class (Apple TV HD or 4K), interface language, App Store account country and the region set on the Apple TV.
We do not collect: player names or avatars, any individual player's answers, contacts, GPS location or advertising identifiers. There are no per-player events — only round and match totals.
Players' phones
Phones join through a web browser over your local network. The page is served by the Apple TV itself; during play the phone does not contact the internet. The name and avatar you enter stay on the Apple TV for the life of the room and are deleted when it closes. The phone's browser keeps a technical key so you can rejoin the same room after a reload.
Who processes the statistics
Statistics are received by the analytics services Mixpanel and Amplitude (servers in the USA). We do not include an IP address in events, but the services can technically see the connection address; we ask Mixpanel not to derive location from it. The services use the data only to produce reports for us.
Retention: as long as needed to improve the game, and no longer than 24 months.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email or payment details — only Apple's confirmation of which halls are unlocked on the device.
How to turn it off
Apple TV → Museum of the Impossible → Settings → Anonymous statistics → off. Unsent events are deleted from the device. Deleting the app deletes the install ID.
Children
The game includes a family theme for ages 7–12. We do not collect personal data from children or adults; statistics are the same for every theme and cannot identify who played.
